Rustic First Communion
2018 was such an amazing year for us here at Little Miss Party Planner. Not only was it our first year, officially, but we had an incredible, better than I expected outcome.
As I reflected on how truly blessed we are to have such amazing clients, vendors and community, I wanted to share one of our first events.
This Rustic First Communion Celebration has become one of my top favorites and it’s no surprise that if you search for rustic communion ideas on Pinterest, you will most likely come across this party. Yay!
My amazing hair stylist and now my good friend, Shawna Polimene and I were chatting, as we all do with our hair stylists, about how I was launching this business of Event Planning and Styling. She mentioned she needed help with her sons first communion party and I was honored to take the role of planning and styling her sons communion.
The cake table was definitely one of a kind with a real reclaimed wooden backdrop.
My dear husband, not only did he create this beautiful piece but also took part in helping me create this amazing event. Yes ladies, my husband was putting linens on the tables, distributing charger plates and styling the centerpieces.
It’s all in the details is no joke to us. We had our friends over at MKKM Designs, design some beautiful stationary for this event. Menus, signage, itinerary, and so much more.
Besides the beautiful cake table, the centerpiece were absolutely gorgeous. White candle lit lanterns sat in the center of table, atop some wooden round chargers, along with mason jars filled with hydrangeas and baby breath.
When guests entered the space, they were greeted by a beautiful wooden sign, personalized by us of course, decor and of course a bible where guests could leave sweet messages for this young man.
Tiny rosaries were given to each guest as a favor to take home with them, that hung on white birch trees. This table also featured a rustic cards box, photos of the family and a framed communion prayer.
I will absolutely never forget this event because not only was it for a special friends son but his reaction when walking into the venue, standing in front of the cake table and he turns to me and says, “You did this all for me?”. I seriously get tears every time I think about that. I will never forget that moment. I knew right there and then that this was what I was suppose to be doing.
